who really has the addiction??

so i went and saw 'I Know Who Killed Me' last night and boy lemme tell you, ms. lohan sure has come a long way since her Parent Trap days. i found myself shocked at her tasteless stripteases, clips of pill overdose and the risque, yet hilarious, sex scene. i'll admit, a few times i found myself wondering if perhaps her character as a reckless stripper was really a mirror image of linsay's real life what with her recent events of drunk driving, drug possession and arrest.

however before i could even complete that thought something inside me said "WHY DO U EVEN CARE?!"... has anyone really inquired as to why the whole world cares about the doings of a 20 something year old girl? or any other celebrities for that matter. of course if that person is your idol, you are going to care. but why do people publish weekly magazines on the life and insignificant past times of those in the spotlight only to criticize them countlessly? we have all fallen ill to this addiction. you could walk up to any given person and ask who are the presidential candidates for 2008 and they could stare u blank in the face. but ask whats up with angelina and brad or or the latest on britney and her rehab and they could write u a book. its gotten so bad that there is even a new application on facebook that tells you ever day if lindsay lohan is at home, in rehab, or in jail. cmon now... for real??!

the only possible explaination i could offer is that we become bored with out own lives. which is natural. it is then though that you find out who is really living their lives and who is settling with their lives singing their shoulda coulda wouldas. there is too much going on in the world to be worrying about what new restaurant jessica simpson was spotted at this week or who paris hiltons new boyfriend is. maybe eventually we'll all learn to fight the addiction. if not, i believe we have a new TRUTH commercial on our hands. WADAFUXUP?!
